Celebrating the Day of our First Man in our Lives

Image
Our family supports us with the best care in both good and difficult times. Every member of the family is important in our lives. Father is the family's head and the one on whom all family members may rely.      Every year on the third Sunday of June, we commemorate Father's Day. This day is completely dedicated to all the fathers worldwide. The importance of a father in the lives of a child is irreplaceable. Our father is the one who will always be a constant in our lives, supporting us in good and bad times and leading us in the correct direction. He will always encourage you and look after all of your needs.  Fathers are the pillars of a family who keep the family together and support them through all stages of life. On Father's Day, each year, we honour our fathers by giving them special presents, appreciation, and spending the entire day with them. But we should remember to thank our father every day of the year. We should be grateful for his sacrifices in ord

Elevating to Executive Level

After a long nine months, the life of junior high school students has finally come to an end. After four quarters and a number of modules, I finally arrived at my current location. This quarter was shorter and much more stressful than the  previous  quarters.  Excitement, joy, stress, fear, depression and fatigue were the feelings I felt during our Blended Learning Class.  It was a challenging journey for me and all of us. I learned a lot in the field of information and communication technology. I improved my Microsoft skills in the last quarter of the school year. Over time, I learn to improve, get better, and adapt. Reading is not the only way to learn. Lessons and experience are also important. This year I learned a lot about how to communicate. Learning from life is not the same as living.  Finally, in this quarter, as we approached the end of high school, we realized that we needed to build our own learning strategy to survive and maximize our partnership with the university in th

Philippine Independence: The Immortal Emblem of Humanity

Image
On this day in 1898, the Philippines declared independence after more than 300 years under Spanish rule. Every June 12th, Filipinos celebrate their freedom by flying their national flag high in the sky, just like the one waving in today’s Doodle. While there were many who fought for Filipino independence, there are a few people who are honored and remembered as heroes for their contributions in securing the country’s independence. José Rizal was a key member of the Filipino Propaganda Movement and inspired a wave of nationalism through his writings. Andrés Bonifacio, “The Father of the Philippine Revolution”, formed a secret society called the Katipunan and led a number of successful campaigns against the Spanish. General Emilio Aguinaldo was another notable figure who fought alongside the United States during the Spanish-American War. It was he who, on June 12, proclaimed the Philippine Republic as an independent country, demanding a “dignified place in the concert of free natio

Mother’s Day: Day of our Superheroes

Mother's Day is a celebration honoring the mother  of the family or individual, as well as motherhood, and maternal bonds  and the influence of mothers in society. It is celebrated on different days in many parts of the world, most commonly in the months of March or May. It complements similar celebrations, largely pushed by commercial interests, honoring family members, such as Father's Day, Sibling's Day  and Grandparent's Day.  Every year, Mother's Day is celebrated on the second Sunday of May to honour and to show appreciation towards mothers worldwide. This year, Mother's Day falls on Sunday, 08 May 2022. We celebrate Mother's Day to make our mothers feel special. It is the day when we thank our mothers and motherly figures by expressing our love and gratitude towards them.             Mother's Day is a day when every child celebrates and praises their mothers. Nowadays, it is celebrated in schools in presence of their mothers. Children give greet

Celebration of Binatbatan Festival: Abel Weaving

Image
Binabatan was introduced in 2002 as part of the celebration of Abel Iloco's hand weaving. It is celebrated every year from the last week of April to the first week of May. The name of the festival comes from the word "batbat". This refers to the first step in the weaving process, which involves separating the cotton balls from the seeds by tapping the cotton balls from the seeds with two bamboo sticks for Abel.  During this time of the pandemic, there were some changes to the celebration of the Binabatan Festival. Celebration is different from our tradition in recent years. In order to avoid the transmission and spread of the disease,  it is not possible to form a crowd or have close contact with an individual. However, with fewer and fewer cases of COVID-19 virus, we can celebrate Binatbatan this year. Thankfully, we are now back in a familiar world. Tourists and visitors from Vigan and other cities can also attend the celebration in Vigan City. The Binabatan Festival
